Documentary exposes two Latin-American eating patterns on Ultra Docu

West Palm Beach, FL – September 30, 2020 – Ultra Docu, a network created to provide access to a collection of documentaries on Latin American topics as well as lifestyle, technology-related films and human-interest programming from around the globe, premieres this season the Venezuelan-Argentinean documentary about food Candy Bar directed by Alejandra Szeplaki.

The 80 minutes documentary, produced by Daniel Jerozolimski, is set between Venezuela and Argentina. Through the lives of 6 women, the film shows the different relationships that these characters engage with food. They experience how a dish transcends the border of the nutritious and in what manner the gastronomy is crossed by economic relations.

Candy Bar is from 2018 and shows by what method a meal can transcends the border of the nutritious, intersected by emotional, cultural, and economic relations even could be considered as a political act. Eating patterns are related with affection, company, reward, punishment, social status, illness, health, poverty, as well as wealth.
